Ragdoll Cat Stories

Levi was a bag/box freak. If was empty and on the floor he was gonna give it a shot to crawl inside of it. He got pretty fat and it was hilarious watching him try and fit into an empty cereal box. But the funniest time ever was he was rather young and we had left to do something. When we got home we heard him squeaking (He never had a good meow just wimpy squeaks) and found him hanging upside down in a jacket sleeve hanging from the back of a chair. It was one of those satiny jackets with the thick elastic sleeves and he was stuck good. All you could see was his eyes and nose sticking out the end. I only wish I had gotten a picture.

First of all I would like to say that looking at all the pictures that everybody has posted of their Ragdolls are absolutely gorgeous, this breed is the most lovey dovey cat that I have ever had Bogart will be a year old in August so I can't wait to see if he will get posted. We also have another cat Snoop who is nine years old that my daughter adopted from a rescue and from what I understand he has got alot of Maine Coon in him and people always have asked me if he was a Maine Coon, my daughter moved to Florida hence we have Snoop but ever since Snoop has turned 9 he has had quite a few medical problems which I have researched on and usually this happens to indoor males, which I found to be very odd, I know this is suppose to be all about Ragdolls but I feel since Bogart is a male also other people may benifit from Snoop, he has first Urinary Tract Disease which I found out because Snoop started to vomit quite a bit but he didn't have any of the other symptoms of urinary problems I had brought this problem up several times with the vet and we were always told that Snoop was overeating we had 2 other cats and one went to kitty heaven 2 years ago and she was almost 20 years old and Chloe was 11 who had kidney problems both were Himalayans, well as we all know how expensive it is to go to the vet and Snoop was referred to a specialist for the vomiting because as he got older it got worse and I decided to change Vets also and she was the one who referred him to a internal medicine Vet and after many blood tests that came back normal, medication that he was vomiting it all up after we gave it to him, he decided to do a endoscopy well it came back as mild allergic gastitis which he is now taking prednisone and he has not vomited and also his stools are normal, he would have a normal stool that would go into diarrhea and I have to say this specialist has been wonderul he emails me everyday, he has kept Snoop for a week at the hospital and not charged me and even before his endoscopy his kidney functions were not were he wanted them and he kept him at the hospital for 2 days on a IV and he did not charge me, he just kept telling me that Snoop was a special cat. So the reason for my story is how much I have learned from Snoop and being that Bogart is young now but if I don't feel compfortable with a answer from a vet get a second opinion,Snoop may not have that Urinary Tract Disease because what was happening with the vomiting he was getting dehydrated off and on so I hope my story helps anybody and so far so good with Snoop and now he and Bogart play and chase each other all over the house, and by the way we adopted Bogart from Blue Gem and I would recommend Mary who lives in Mass. VERY HIGHLY.

Here is a picture of Rufus, a Sealpoint Ragdoll, at 10 weeks and then at 2 years. I love that he was a little, white gerbil looking creature when he was born and morphed into a mocha colored beast! He was a very pretty baby. And is now a very pretty, big boy.

Well Bogart is my first Ragdoll, I also have a Maine Coon who is 9 yrs old now, we did have a himalayan Chloe who we had to send to cat heaven and Snoop seemed so lost that we decided to get a Ragdoll which I have always wanted, Bogart has been wonderful and I would love to get another but it took awhile for Snoop to get use to Bogart not knowing he was still grieving over the loss of our beloved Chloe but now we are a happy family, and I just love ragdolls, they are so smart and I always wanted a lap cat whicch he is!! He was born this past August and we have had him since October, I did a lot of research before we got Bogart and I knew this was the cat we wanted, the only thing that I do advise is to get to know your breeder, I had a bad expierence before we got Bogart and it taught me a very hard lesson. Anyway this is a picture of Bogart!!

Last night, I fell asleep in my spare room/office and didn't shut the door as I do with my bedroom. I don't let my cats sleep with me because they keep me awake, and my old Siamese cat peed on my bed twice. So that was that. So I slept in the spare bed and woke up with all 3 cats right there with me - one in the crook of my knees, one right near my belly, and most surprising was that Loo - who is not one to get real close - was curled up right next to my pillow! She let me put my arms around her and flopped over and was purring. She never lets me cuddle with her! She prefers to be near me, where I can reach her and pet her but not touching me. And sleeping next to my pillow - she wasn't touching me but she was right next to me, as usual. I loved it, my big fluffy girl

I'm a truck driver. My dispatcher gave me this big, beautiful grey/white fluffy cat with blue eyes. He was the best friend i could've ever had. Mine is a sad story. I had my monster kitty for about a year, i was at a warehouse in chicago and i went inside to check in and when i came out, the door was open and Franklin was gone. I stayed there all day walking around calling for him, praying he would come back. But he didn't. That was over 2 years ago and i still miss him.

I have had spidey since birth his mom was a stray so I took her in spidey was the runt of the litter so I had to bottle feed him for 6weeks we really bonded when his sisters and brothers were old enough they were fixed and given to good homes. Spidey is only 2yr and 5months and all ready weighs 35pounds he is like my child he is a inside cat only.

We got Bogart after our beloved Himalayan Chloe (seal point) got very sick and had to go to kitty heaven we have a mix Maine Coon and always wanted a Ragdoll after much research we found Bogart he was well worth the trip he is from Mass and we live in Connecticut, I hope everybody enjoys the pictures he is such a love and he and our other cat get along great!

Oliver is a 5 month old Blue Bi-Color boy. He came to live with us about a month ago and absolutely fell in love with my 9 month old female Boxer Puppy. My boxer follows him all around and when she goes outside to potty he watches her out the window! This picture is of Brooklyn giving Oliver a 'hug'. He purrs and rubs up against her as she's got him under her head. They also love to lay together. He will push himself under her leg when she is on her side and fall asleep like that spooning. They are an odd pair but cute as all get out!

I recieved Lu (at the time believed to be Lucy), from a friend of a friend. "Lucy" and my female cat that I'd already had, Arielle, didn't hit it off so well. Arielle has hated him from the day we brought him home. Thus, causing some problems as you could imagine.

I'm now trying to find a home for my little Lubear that can take very good care of him. He's a great cat, but my other cat likes being an only cat and has made that quite clear. He's a lilac point, 10 months old, fixed and has had his rabies and distemper shots. He's pretty laid back, but gets a saucy streak where he wants to pounce and play. Lu loves soft fuzzy things, like fluffy blankets and robes.

Precious is a 5yr old flame point and Mocha is a 6 month old Seal point. They are the best cats I have had so far. They both follow me around like a puppy dog and they are so soft and so cuddly!

This is "The Moosh!" He was 12 weeks old in the top picture...and 15 months in the bottom picture (taken last week) He is the love of my life!! I got him from mom & dad as a birthday present just a few weeks before we had to put my Saint Bernard Dreyfie to sleep...It's never easy losing a best friend...but Mooshu's constant antics & curiosity & trouble seeking sure kept me busy!! He doesn't "knead dough" on my chest...rather he kisses inside my mouth until he falls asleep...all while he purrs like a Ferrari...and he seeks attention by knocking ANYTHING over...and when it lands on him...he comes to tell me & takes me to go look...like he thinks he deserves an award!! (FYI...he does the same thing after a good poop to let me know his butt needs a checking!!) He is the true meaning of the term...a "floppy cat" I can hold him any which way I want...for as long as I want...He will let me brush him...when HE is in the mood. Mooshu makes me smile all day...and even at 4am...when he wakes me up by curling up into my face...just to cuddle. Needless to say...I simply ADORE him...and he adores me!

Bella is 1 years old born Dec 21, 2010. I bought her from a breeder located in Specerport, New York . Bella is a new addition to our family and husband and I adore her. She's a sweetheart and great with kids.

My Libby is 1 of 4 kitties I have but she is so unique. I love her and she has my heart because she survived at only 3 weeks old. She is 7 yrs old now. She survived thru fleas, ringworm and not having use of her front legs and just having a hard beginning. After 3 days she had full use of all her body parts and she had to get special treatments to survive. Everyday is a blessing to have her and I am grateful that she lived for me to love and care for her everyday!

The funny things that she does is run into the bathroom after someone has a shower. She loves to get the drippings of the water off you. She loves to get wet and she will follow me into the bathroom off my bedroom so she can get her own little 3oz cup of water to drink. She has a little "nub" tail and when she is happy and is loving up on someone and she is friendly with everyone, she will wiggle it and "kneed" like shes massaging you. Shes is co adorable and I love her dearly. I am unable to upload a pic of her here, but she is ALL OVER my facebook page and is my main pic so if you want to look me up you can see all her pictures and my other furry kids as well as my daughter.
