Decorate Your iPhone with a Ragdoll Cat Pictures from Zazzle

Wednesday, January 2, 2013 by Jenny Dean

It isn’t every day that you see Ragdoll cat pictures on trendy items such as phone covers but Zazzle has got a gorgeous Ragdoll kitty on the back of one of their iPhone cases. The picture is a standard picture but from the reviews on the Zazzle website it seems you can design your own cover if you prefer. Obviously this means you can put your own feline friend on to these cat products, providing you have a picture that shows your kitty in their true beauty.

The phone covers themselves are highly durable and fit snuggly around any iPhone. They aren’t as bulky as some phone covers and protect both the back and the sides of your phone…and from the sample photos on the Zazzle website it seems the photo you choose extends around the sides as well as across the back. It is worth bearing in mind when choosing a photo for your cover that the camera hole is quite large and an important part of your photo may be missing.

Saying this, what better way to show off the Ragdoll cat breed than with something that probably rarely leaves your side?

The Cat Scratching Playhouse from Four Paws

Friday, December 14, 2012 by Jenny Dean

 Cat Scratching Play House

This cute little cat playhouse is designed to be used indoors however it could also be used as a hide-away in larger outdoor cat playpens, providing the weather was nice. It is constructed of durable cardboard and apparently just clicks together with simple-to-use plastic snap clips. The floor of the playhouse is actually a scratching mat, which means you could do away with any smaller sisal cat scratching posts you have around the house.

Similarly, if using the playhouse in an outdoor playpen you wouldn’t have the hassle of finding a scratching post that fit in the pen along with a hide-away. You get both needs covered with this one item.

According to the reviews the playhouse is very sturdy and will stand up to a fair amount of rough and tumble play from your cats. You get two reversible scratching pads with it, so even if your kitty is a prolific scratcher it will last a good few months…which isn’t bad for the price really.

And just think of the Ragdoll cat pictures you can take with a camera to show your kitty in his or her cutest moments.

Facing my fears

Friday, June 29, 2012 by Ragdoll Cat Stories

Casper came from Angelkissed Ragdolls from a breeder named Gail. He is such a sweet and funny kitty. There isn't a day that goes by that he doesn't make me laugh or make me say, "awww." Thought, I mostly just laugh at him.

This picture of him in the sink is the least likely to happen since he use to get baths in sinks. So when I saw him I knew I needed to take a picture. He is a kitty who loves to chase not only his tail but the tails of the other two kitties in the house.

His favorite place to sleep in the whole world is the kitchen table, which I have never quite figured out. Despite the fact that he looks like a full grown cat he is still just a kitten (both physically and mentally.)

I hope you love this picture as much as I do. :)

Ragdoll Cat Adoption: Kitson - Ragdoll Rescue NEW YORK CITY - OWNER DECIDED TO KEEP

Monday, June 11, 2012 by Ragdoll Rehoming Team

Ragdoll Rescue New York City***OWNER DECIDED TO KEEP***

Kitson is a one year old lilac bicolor ragdoll male. He celebrated his one-year- old birthday on November 14, 2011 (He was born on November 14, 2010). We adopted him on February 11, 2011 at three months old.

We love Kitson very much, but are choosing to have him adopted for multiple reasons. We have a newborn baby in the house and Kitson is not getting the love or attention that he deserves. I am so busy all day with our son, and my husband is at work all day. I have been back and forth about finding him a better home for months, but we recently decided that we are moving out of New York and this made up my mind for me. We are planning a move to Georgia and plan on driving there with a U-Haul and do not want Kitson to suffer in a cat cage for 18 or more hours. Also, we do not have air conditioning in our apartment, and Kitson was very hot last summer with his long hair. We would prefer if his new owner had air conditioning (we understand if that is too much to ask). Kitson has never been around any other animals besides other ragdoll cats such as his litter-mates at his breeder's home. We do not know if he would do well with dogs, or cats of another species.

Kitson is VERY loving, and we want him to go to a home with an owner who will shower him with affection. He is more like a dog than a cat when it comes to loyalty to his owner. He follows me from room to room, and even sits by the bathroom door while my husband shaves his face. He is definitely not the type of cat where you don't know where he is because he is always right by your side! Kitson will even sleep on your pillow if you allow him to. We used to sleep with him cuddled up with us, but we have a newborn baby so unfortunately Kitson sleeps on his own in the living room now. He will even clean you as if you are one of his own. Since he is still young, Kitson loves to play. He has never attacked, and has never hissed once. I don't think he knows what hissing is. He has never intentionally scratched or bit us or broken our skin. He will only nip or accidentally scratch if you are playing rough with him, but other than being playful, he has never done anything like that which is rare in a cat! He never gets angry, not even when I clip his nails or brush him, or wash him in the bath tub (I only did that twice when he was a kitten and he got a little dirty)! Also, he is very good with children. My newborn pulls his hair (by accident), and Kitson does not budge. Of course, I separate them as soon as my son does that.

Medical History: He was neutered at three months old. He has completely received the following mandatory feline vaccinations: Panleukopenia, Rhinotrachetis, and Calicivirus; all were received at 2, 8, and finally 12 weeks old. He also had Nemex 2 at 6 weeks old, and deworming at 9 and 12 weeks old. We chose not to give Kitson a rabies shot because he is strictly an indoor cat, and we do not have Ragdoll Rescue New Yorkany other pets. We have his pet papers to give to his new owner.

Certificates: We have a Pedigree Certificate which lists his family tree/blood line. We also have his blue slip to prove that he is registered with The International Cat Association, Inc. We also have his contract/guarantee from his breeder: Kitson has a two year replacement guarantee against hereditary or congenital defects that affects the life of the cat.

Food and Litter: We feet Kitson Nutro Max Cat dry food, and Fancy Feast beef chunks in gravy wet food. He is very adaptable in changing to new dry food if you do not feel that it is nutritious enough for him. I know that many people prefer higher end grain-free brands and I'm sure he would enjoy it more. When it comes to wet food, he loves his chunks in gravy and will NOT touch the pate, or blended cat food. He has to have chunks. I also add a little water to his wet food to increase his water intake a bit. As for litter, he uses Tidy Cat scoopable. Kitson does not have any litter issues and is well trained.

Shedding: Kitson DOES shed. Upon adopting him, we were told by our breeder that ragdolls do not shed, but this is not true. When I have spoken to other ragdoll owners, they confirmed that ragdolls indeed do shed. I swiffer once or twice a week and use the pledge sweeper on our couch, and there have not been any other problems. It is not excessive cat hair, but I just feel I should mention it in case you are under the impression that ragdolls don't shed. He has a very big tail! His hair is beautiful and the softest fur you will ever feel! He is knot-free too :) I also have brushes that I can give you for him.

Adoption Fee: We are asking for $400 for Kitson because he is a purebred pedigree cat for which we paid $800 for. We thought this to be fair since he is just one year old and is still under his breeder's guarantee. However, it could be negotiated. I will draw up a contract for both of us once we discuss all the details and agree on all terms. Also, Kitson does not have scratching issues. The only time he ever scratched furniture was when we didn't have a scratching post for him (shame on us!) and he leaned up and kneaded the tip of our couch by where I sit. We then bought him a scratching post and put it right next to that spot on the couch, and now that is what he leans up and scratches all the time. It is against our contract with his breeder to declaw him or allow him to go outside due to his gentle and naive nature. Also, in some pictures, Kitson has a short haircut (a one time idea on our part). His long, soft fur is fully grown in again, beautiful as ever.

Age: 1 year
Sex: Male
Fee: $400 (negotiable)
Location: Brooklyn, New York

My two Ragdolls

Friday, June 8, 2012 by Ragdoll Cat Stories

I got Tulah when she was 2 years old from someone who couldn't keep her any longer. Her original name was Toolbox, but I could not call this beautiful girl by that name. She adapted well, but she is definitely my cat. She follows me around like a dog and if I don't come down to the computer soon enough, she yells at me. She likes to sit on my lap and watch the images on the screen. Her papers say she is a sealpoint mitted, but she seems more of a blue to me.

Murphy is my 12 year old sealpoint bicolor. He is very lovable, but small for a ragdoll. He has to have "lap" time every afternoon around 2:30 and of course always announces it's time for treats at 8:30p.m.

Kitty's Name: Tulah and Murphy

Life with Bogart and Snoop

Tuesday, April 24, 2012 by Ragdoll Cat Stories

First of all I would like to say that looking at all the pictures that everybody has posted of their Ragdolls are absolutely gorgeous, this breed is the most lovey dovey cat that I have ever had Bogart will be a year old in August so I can't wait to see if he will get posted. We also have another cat Snoop who is nine years old that my daughter adopted from a rescue and from what I understand he has got alot of Maine Coon in him and people always have asked me if he was a Maine Coon, my daughter moved to Florida hence we have Snoop but ever since Snoop has turned 9 he has had quite a few medical problems which I have researched on and usually this happens to indoor males, which I found to be very odd, I know this is suppose to be all about Ragdolls but I feel since Bogart is a male also other people may benifit from Snoop, he has first Urinary Tract Disease which I found out because Snoop started to vomit quite a bit but he didn't have any of the other symptoms of urinary problems I had brought this problem up several times with the vet and we were always told that Snoop was overeating we had 2 other cats and one went to kitty heaven 2 years ago and she was almost 20 years old and Chloe was 11 who had kidney problems both were Himalayans, well as we all know how expensive it is to go to the vet and Snoop was referred to a specialist for the vomiting because as he got older it got worse and I decided to change Vets also and she was the one who referred him to a internal medicine Vet and after many blood tests that came back normal, medication that he was vomiting it all up after we gave it to him, he decided to do a endoscopy well it came back as mild allergic gastitis which he is now taking prednisone and he has not vomited and also his stools are normal, he would have a normal stool that would go into diarrhea and I have to say this specialist has been wonderul he emails me everyday, he has kept Snoop for a week at the hospital and not charged me and even before his endoscopy his kidney functions were not were he wanted them and he kept him at the hospital for 2 days on a IV and he did not charge me, he just kept telling me that Snoop was a special cat. So the reason for my story is how much I have learned from Snoop and being that Bogart is young now but if I don't feel compfortable with a answer from a vet get a second opinion,Snoop may not have that Urinary Tract Disease because what was happening with the vomiting he was getting dehydrated off and on so I hope my story helps anybody and so far so good with Snoop and now he and Bogart play and chase each other all over the house, and by the way we adopted Bogart from Blue Gem and I would recommend Mary who lives in Mass. VERY HIGHLY.

Kitty's Name: Bogart

My first Ragdoll Cat

Tuesday, March 27, 2012 by Ragdoll Cat Stories

Well Bogart is my first Ragdoll, I also have a Maine Coon who is 9 yrs old now, we did have a himalayan Chloe who we had to send to cat heaven and Snoop seemed so lost that we decided to get a Ragdoll which I have always wanted, Bogart has been wonderful and I would love to get another but it took awhile for Snoop to get use to Bogart not knowing he was still grieving over the loss of our beloved Chloe but now we are a happy family, and I just love ragdolls, they are so smart and I always wanted a lap cat whicch he is!! He was born this past August and we have had him since October, I did a lot of research before we got Bogart and I knew this was the cat we wanted, the only thing that I do advise is to get to know your breeder, I had a bad expierence before we got Bogart and it taught me a very hard lesson. Anyway this is a picture of Bogart!!
