Wooden Cat Window Perch

Tuesday, January 31, 2012 by Anna Kho
Wooden Cat Window PerchEvery cat of any breed would want the perfect spot for relaxing, sleeping or taking a plain nap. Aside from having their own cat bed to sleep on, your kitty would probably be also interested in cat perches to relax on and just lounge on.

Simpson Ventures 17101 Wooden Cat Window Perch is a single seat window perch that is typically made out of an excellent finished wood. It has raised edges and plush cushioning that serves as the comfortable resting surface for your cat.

The cushioning is upholstered in neutral soft and uses a durable microfiber suede fabric. It has protective felt pads to prevent your floor from any scratches and possible dents. Such wooden texture adds up a decorative design to your home especially if it is a wood/ancient themed one.

This cat window perch is ideal for any sized cat - it has a wide base for extra stability and hold. Dimensions are: 30" D x 24" H x 21" W.

You can get this Wooden Cat Window Perch for $74.99.

Ragdoll Cat Adoption: Portland, OR Ragdoll Rescue

Friday, December 2, 2011 by Ragdoll Rehoming Team
Ragdoll Cats*********ADOPTED*****************

Here are two beautiful sisters, with unusual markings: a cream/blue and a seal/flame tortie. Adorable! They are amazingly mellow: perfect family cats.

I'm rehoming them due to new financial and living circumstances. I live in a very small studio apartment, and have an additional cat, and I just don't have the money or space for them, heart-breaking as it is.

They are incredibly bonded, so they must go together. They love to groom each other and play together. Very entertaining. They love to sleep in their cat tree, and on the bed with you. They welcome you at the door and follow you around the house, rubbing your legs. They are great with kids. I have neighbor kids that love to hold and play with them, and they've never scratched or bitten. They like to be pet, brushed, and purr softly while sitting near you on the couch. They don't really sit in your lap though. They have been indoor only up to this point, and it would probably be best to keep them that way, for safety's sake, since they have no outdoor skills. Still, they LOVE to look out the window at the birds! They are very sweet girls, and I will miss them terribly. I want them only to go to a most loving home. Thank you! Please email with any questions!

Lizzie has the split nose, and Black Nose... well, she has the dark nose and freckles.

They are fixed and have had their shots.

Age: 2
Sex: Female
Fee: $200 for both

Miss Misty

Saturday, November 12, 2011 by Ragdoll Cat Stories
Ragdoll catHi! This is my darling Misty. She’s 11 years old. She was born on April 1st, seemingly fit for her whacky personality. I got her for my birthday in 3rd grade. I had put a lot of research (for a third grader) into what kind of cat I wanted. After reading about how delightful their personality was supposed to be, my mother and I were sold. We went to a breeder in Wisconsin on the Fourth of July weekend to go pick her up. She was the only female in the litter. The breeder was honest and upfront about this cat; she has a kidney disease.

When we returned home, we took her to the vet like cat owners should. They estimated that she wouldn’t live past age four. They told us to give her IV drips to help flush out her system. We’ve been giving her treatments for 11 years and she’s still running around, looking for someone to play with.

Misty is a pampered little bugger. She sleeps in my room on my bed, often hogging the space. When she meows, or dare I say wails, she gets everyone’s attention – all the time. Because of her kidney issue, we feed her baby food. If any of you have to (or choose to) feed your cat baby food, we use the Chicken & Rice formula. It seems to please the finicky palate of my needy feline.

Like a true Ragdoll, she flops. She lies on her back all the time, feet up in the air. Often times I find her cuddling it up with our 3 year old, Nala. She has taken a liking to boxes, be they too small or too large. We have water heaters in our house and in the winter it becomes the hottest cat hang out. This blue-eyed, two toned nosed feline has caused quite a stir in my life and I look forward to coming home from college to visit her.

Ragdoll Cat Adoption: Jinx - Ragdoll Cat Rescue High Point, NC

Sunday, October 23, 2011 by Ragdoll Rehoming Team
Eva and Jinx are two beautiful Ragdoll Cats looking for a furever home. They are indoor only and are very bonded, so they would love to stay together.

They were abandoned by their owner in February 2011 and we took them in. We fell in love their sweet personalities right away. Sadly, it turns out we all have cat allergies! We are heartbroken at the thought of rehoming them. This has been a very difficult decision, we grow more and more in love with them every day. We want to make sure they get a good home where they will be loved and taken care of.

They have had a lot of changes in their short lives, so we are looking for someone who can keep them together and provide a stable home for them. We have two small children and two dogs, they have adjusted well to them all. I would love to see them find a home where they are the only babies, but I believe they would do fine in any home provided they are given the attention they need and a space to get away from it all when needed.

Jinx is 2 years old. He is a cautious boy and takes a while to warm to you, but once he does, he is a sweetheart. He stays under the bed when the house is loud, but once it is quiet, he will come sit with you to get love. He loves to be scratched and will purr and suck on his feet when he is happy. He sings to you when he wants love or food. He loves me especially and my husband, and is finally starting to warm to the children. He is not aggressive at all though, he will run and hide when he is scared. He does not seem to have any health issues. He eats Avoderm hard food and I give him a bit of Eva's canned food just so he doesn't feel left out. He has not been vetted yet and needs his shots and to be neutered.

At night she splits her time between our girls beds and our room. She is scared of thunder and vacuum cleaners. She has been spayed and is utd on her shots. She also tested FELV/FIV negative. She has had a couple uti's but is doing well since she has been eating a combo of Science Diet Cd canned food (prescription) and Avoderm hard food, she will most likely need to continue the CD diet (around $20 a month for her prescription food). When her bladder was bothering her, she would urinate outside the box, but since we changed her diet, she has had no more potty issues.

ME, Proud No Way!

Monday, September 12, 2011 by Chiggy Wiggy
Floppy CatSidnee my Persian cutie is very finicky.
He has never had your food or treats.
Maybe this would be the answer.
He isn't very playful any more as he is 6 yrs. old now.
A super sweet cat, he's not mean or hissy, but he
is mainly stuck on one person.
Sidnee is so attractive with his black goatee and black body with white belly and paws. Children would like to pet him, but he isn't having his fur messed up. Off he goes under the bed! You can't get me now!!

Ragdoll Rescue Texas - Resources for Finding a Ragdoll Cat In Need in Texas

Sunday, September 11, 2011 by Amanda W
Deciding to adopt a Ragdoll instead of buying from a breeder is a noble decision for any current or future owner.  There are so many Ragdolls that are in need of forever homes, as is common with any pure breed of animal.  Sometimes new owners cannot meet the needs of a pet and they end up in a rescue that attempts to find a loving home.  While there is not one main organization to rescue Ragdolls, there are several small organizations that specialize in the breed.

There is a Ragdoll and Maine Coon Rescue in Texas called Merlin's Hope.  Merlin's Hope has been rescuing since 2005 and has re-homed and coordinated rescues for 600 plus cats. The rescue is quickly becoming mostly Ragdolls and will arrange transport if someone is interested in a Ragdoll that is in one of their monitored foster homes.

Stories of some of the Ragdoll's previous situations can be found on Merlin's Hope's website.  Read about how these brave kittens survived and how they found a forever home. Just imagine that you could be the one to take a cute Ragdoll from a home of scrounging through cabinets to one with a cat window bed, a personal sisal cat scratching post, and plenty of feather cat toys.

Cardboard Cat Scratcher for Large Kitties

Friday, September 9, 2011 by Amanda W
Brawny Cat Big Baby ReviewRagdolls, especially males, can become quite large.  Many can be 20 pounds or more. Buying cat window beds, cat window perches, or even sisal cat scratching posts that can stand up to these oversized beauties can be difficult, but Brawny Cat has created a design that will work on many levels.

The Brawny Cat Big Baby is a scratching post, bed, and small storage area all in one.  The oversized scratching area is raised on both ends so your furry friend can relax or scratch the tough cardboard to their heart's content. The cardboard fibers and catnip that falls down is caught in a small area to keep floors neat and clean.  Since the Big Baby is designed for large cats the surface area is big enough to be enjoyed. Right from the box this Big Baby is enjoyed as the cedar smell fills a room.

As our Floppy Cats review points out the Big Baby serves as groomer, bed, and scratching post for all the cats in the home. Read more about the specific product - read the review and then visit the manufacturer to get one of your very own.

Modern Cat Furniture - The Refined Feline Kitty Ball Cat Bed™ Arrives for a Product Review!

Thursday, September 8, 2011 by Jenny Dean
Trigg in The Refined Feline Kitty Ball Cat BedWe are always on the lookout for cool modern cat furniture.  The heinous carpet covered cat furniture of years ago is a thing of the past thanks to companies like The Refined Feline that make gorgeous cat climbing trees like the Lotus Cat Tree, as well as cat beds and cat furniture.

Today we received The Refined Feline Kitty Ball Cat Bed™!  This is the Kitty Ball Bed - in White Poly Rattan and it sells for $99.99.

Poly rattan is durable and non-toxic and unlike whicker is will not break if clawed - however, it has the gorgeous look of whicker.

There's also a soft machine washable cushion with removable cover.

The cats were immediately attracted to it and ended up jumping into it all by themselves - you can see more of their initial reaction below in the videos of the opening/introduction process.

We will be doing a full product review on it very shortly on Floppycats.com!  Check out all of our cat product reviews.

Pet Booster Seats

Friday, September 2, 2011 by Amanda W
Solvit Booster SeatAn adored Ragdoll could get even larger and such an affectionate cat would, of course, attend family outings to be shown off. Ragdoll males tend to be on the large side for cats so a larger pet booster seat may be in order.  Traveling with a cat can be tough as they want to see outside, but also need to be safe.  It is dangerous to have your feline friend wondering around in the vehicle so the pet booster seat is ideal.

Solvit Pet Booster Seat is available in four sizes that range from small to jumbo for pets up to 30 pounds. The booster seat is easy to attach to any car seat with a headrest, front or back.  Serving the same purpose as a cat window bed in the house, this booster seat will keep your Ragdoll entertained and comfortable. The best part is the added feature that no cat window bed has is that a small strap that holds the cat in place by the collar if necessary.

Floppy Cats has been lucky enough to try and review this product with a Ragdoll in the car so first hand reviews can be found on the site.  Solvit has made travel with a pet safe and entertaining for the pet.

Get your own Solvit Booster Seat from Amazon.com for 23 to 50 dollars, depending on size.

Solvit Booster Seat

Thursday, September 1, 2011 by Amanda W
Traveling with pets can be a lot of work.  On top of finding a place to stay with your four legged friend, you must also account for their comfort and contentment on long trips.  Hearing a Bicolor Ragdoll or cute little Chihuahua whine from a cage throughout a long trip is unbearable, but sometimes has to be done.  Many pet owners do not and should not feel safe having their pets roaming around the car while traveling and many pets want nothing more than to stare out the windowSolvit Booster Seat and watch as the world goes by. Solvit Booster Seat will meet the needs of all involved.

Solvit Booster Seat easily attaches to a front of back car seat with a headrest.  The sturdy material is lined with faux fur that can be removed if dirty and the height is ideal for your pet to look out the window.  If you have a Bicolor Ragdoll that likes to climb then an additional strap that can be connected to the collar will keep kitty in his or her place.

The Solvit Booster Seat could be compared to a cat window bed for the car.  For a first hand review and video on the Solvit Booster Seat visit Floppy Cats.

Visit Amazon.com to purchase your own Solvit Pet Booster Seat for 23.94.

Beloved kitties want to share the love

Thursday, September 1, 2011 by Chiggy Wiggy
floppy catsArcher and Brendan are loved and pampered very much by their mom and dad but they understand that there are kitties out there that are not as lucky. Although they would love to have this wonderful package to share among themselves, they would be happy to just keep the cool bowl and a toy each and donate the rest to their favorite shelter, Last Hope Cat Kingdom.

Last Hope, which happens to be the only no-kill shelter in the Merced area, has had a rough year and deserve all they help they can get. Instead of celebrating New Year's eve, the shelter had a devastating fire accident where many kitty lives where unfortunately lost. The wonderful people at this shelter did not let this tragedy slow them down in their mission to help kitties in need. The kitties at last hope should win these packages as they would be very happy and grateful to have more toys, beds, and scratchers to play with.

This about 2 cats, from a 'Feral' litter. A friend calls to tell me about 2 starving, kittens. A boy about 9-10yrs. was throwing them up in thee air, 'twisting' heir bodies in any shape, throwing them in front of cars on a busy st. Could I help?

I go over there, by now the boy has tired of 'playing' with them. They are hiding under a shed, I crawl in with the spiders, bugs & whatever. I see them in the coner, they ate chicken pieces, but would come closer. Then I hear a 'Rattle', have to crawl in more & fast! I crawl & GRAB 1 kitten, getting my friend to crawl closer, not telling him about the 'Rattlesnake'. He grabs the kitten, the other one tryed to run. I GOT HIM, poor kitty & get out as fast as I can. One 'Gray L.H. 1 blk. S.h.' all bones. I take them strart to the Vet, 'Gray' one weighs .5, blk one .7, at 6-7 wks, no onces. Everything checked out except they would of starved to death, that day, or the next. The blk. oe wasn't looking good the next day, put him in another carrier, that upset the 'gray' one, he wanted his brother. Took both to the Vet, got Meds, a few cans of special food & a 'Good Luck' from everyone.

Both put on weight, learned to play, learned the hand doesn't hurt, how to run up the couches & a few drapes. Always stayed in the front of the house, never trying to dart out the door, only coming to my Husb & I, hiding from all kids even mine who are in their 20's. They spend most of their tme in the Garage, but are very clane, no 'dusty' smell, they visit my Husb. & I when no one is around, looking for somone to 'rub their bellys'. They are ver loving cats, 'Sambo is braver then 'Wimpy', he comes to let us know, when 'it's time for wet food'.

I don't know if I can post any kind of picture, my Computer is giving lots of trouble, looking for sales this 'Laber Day'..I realy need a new one, a new 'Tower' at least. Hope you understand & will accept my storie. I want to post a 'kinda' sad story, or a rescue I did a few wks. ago, maybe this isn't the right form, but whats wrong with people? I don't even know if I have photos, from other sites, I 'played' around just to get my Computer to work for a few more wks, all 'photos' could of been erased.

I didn't know about this site untill today, I'v been a 'Rescurer' over 35yrs. or all my life. I found one photo of me, as a 'baby' where I wasn't holding a cat. I'll check out your site more, such Beautiful cats, I can look all day at cats..besides the 5 sleeping on my bed, all rescues, some 'were' Feral', have a 'tipped' ear, all indoor.

Rag doll Cat Adoption - Whether a Rescue or a Kitten - Resources to Help Your Find Your Soulmate

Monday, August 29, 2011 by Amanda W
When it is time to add to or start your Ragdoll family the question of whether or not to adopt a kitten or rescue an older Ragdoll always arises.  Those who rescue older Ragdolls are true godsends, but nothing is cuter than a beautiful little ball of fluff that is a kitten.

If you decide on a kitten then you must decide whether it will be a show cat or not.  This will help you decide on a breeder versus other avenues to locate a kitten.  While not all kittens from breeders will be show cats some breeders are better known for show cats then others.

Kittens and older cats can also be found at local shelters or rescue organizations if you are willing to look.  Call or go online to see if any Ragdolls are available.  Remember Ragdolls are often mistaken for other breeds.

No matter what you decide to do as far as a cat or kitten make sure your home is ready for the newest addition.  Have a cat window bed for your new friend to relax in and maybe a lotus cat tree to scratch on.  A few cat snacks are never a bad idea either. Enjoy your new addition.

Unique Cat Furniture on Etsy - Cats&Pods, ModPet, CANOPYStudio

Tuesday, August 23, 2011 by Amanda W
Cats and PodsI am a sucker for a good deal, but when it comes to my Blue Lynx Mitted Ragdoll I am a sucker for a furry body snuggled next to my feet.  I will buy my boy just about anything I think he would enjoy.  I do not know how many feather cat toys he has played into submission over the past few years or how many cat climbing trees have finally given in and fell apart.

My most recent searches have revolved around finding a place for my furry little boy to chill out and nap or play.  I want a cat home and bed, but prefer something unique.  I ran across several products on ETSY that were perfect. First was this Cats&Pods that is environmental friendly.  It is a pod that allows my guy to scratch, rest, and hide whenever he wants.

The other two ETSY shops I found were also awesome.  ModPet offersMod Cats a range of modern cat furniture including some amazingly shaped food bowls that have a modern flair. As vintage is becoming the new modern, CANOPYStudio offers great designs on and off of great pieces for your furry friend.
